This ten-morning intensive equips pastors and teachers with a practical, repeatable process for studying Scripture and teaching it faithfully, using the book of Galatians as a hands-on guide.
This ten-morning course is designed for ministers, Sunday school teachers, and future leaders who want to grow in their ability to handle Scripture faithfully and teach it clearly. Centered on the book of Galatians, the class guides participants step by step through the full process of sermon and lesson preparation, from first observations in the text to final delivery before a congregation.
Participants will learn how to use Bible and word study tools wisely, avoid common interpretive mistakes, identify reliable study resources, trace the flow of argument in a passage, and determine the central message of a text. The course emphasizes connecting individual passages to the wider storyline of Scripture, engaging difficult questions with care, and applying the text meaningfully to real church contexts. Throughout the two weeks, participants will also practice organizing and delivering sermons, receiving constructive feedback in a supportive, small-group setting.
By the end of the course, each participant will have developed a complete sermon or teaching ready for use, gained practical experience in public teaching, and built a toolkit of skills and resources that can be applied to future study and preaching. Along the way, the class offers a focused introduction to Pauline theology through an in-depth engagement with Galatians, paired with prayer, fellowship, and shared learning in community.
